Education

B'nai Chaim has an excellent Religious Education program that offers educational opportunities for children of all ages to learn about Judaism and their Jewish heritage.

· Religious School is available for Pre-K - 7th graders and meets weekly on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.. This includes our T’fillah service and practicing blessings with challah and juice. The school curriculum focuses on seven major themes: Bible and History, Jewish Holidays and Symbols, Hebrew, Prayer, and God, Jewish Values and Spirituality, Jewish Customs and Practices, and Israel. We incorporate many hands-on activities such as cooking and crafts.

· Hebrew School is available for 3rd - 7th graders and meets weekly on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until noon. Students learn the Hebrew alphabet and develop their skills in decoding and learning prayers. Through our T'fillah gathering from 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., students practice what they have learned in the classroom, applying their knowledge in the context of reciting and singing prayers.

· Our Ozerim Program is designed for 8th - 12th graders and provides these older students the opportunity to support Religious School teachers as assistants. In doing so, the teens continue forging their Jewish identity and honing their knowledge of Judaism and Hebrew as they help the younger children. After Religious School, the older students attend a Teen Ethics class that meets from 11:00 a.m.- noon.
