FAMILY PROGRAMS

Fun at the Habitate for Humanity Pumpkin Patch on Sunday, October 16th.

Family Shabbat Services

Our Religious School classes, participate in Shabbat services throughout the school year.  Each class particpates in the service, bringing something special to the bimah, whether it is a play, a poem, or some of the curriculum from their classroom.  It is always a warm and wonderful experience for those who share in this service.  The service is generally shorter than our typical Friday night service, to accomodate the many children in attendance.  The class sponsors the oneg reception after which allows everyone to stay and enjoy Shabbat with friends a bit longer.

 Tot Shabbat

Our monthly Tot Shabbat Service is a chance for young children and their families to celebrate Shabbat. The service is short and age appropriate, with stories and song integrated throughout. We would love to see you there, please check our calendar and join us.  Services usually begin at 6PM.

Sensational Judaism - New Family Program at B'nai Chaim.

B’nai Chaim thrilled and proud to present Sensational! Judaism to our congregation and our community. We will have seven programs throughout the year (2011) highlighting Jewish holidays in fun and unique ways. The first event will be February 3, highlighting Shabbat.
Remember your first memories of the Jewish holidays? Nothing says Shabbat like a freshly baked Challah which fills the home with special tantalizing aroma. The same is true for latkes at Chanukah or hamentaschen for Purim. What about the sights and sounds of these holidays? Using food to attract both synagogue members and the unaffiliated, to learn more about these special culinary items and through them lead into a better understanding of the holidays and observances that these items represent. Music and art will also be part of each program. The additional six programs which will round out our series are:
Is Religion Fun? (Purim)
Matzah Balls the Fun Way
The Dairy Day (Shavuot)
Bringing Back Havdalah
How Sweet It Is To Be a Jew (High Holidays)
December Dilemma (Chanukah)
All this is made possible by a generous grant from the Rose Foundation. Thank you, Rose Foundation.
